In Scotland, the journey out of lockdown will take a step forward on Saturday 5 June when large swathes of the country move into level one, allowing more people to meet outdoors, and inside cafes, pubs and restaurants.
However, a large number of local authorities in the central belt will remain in level two where there are stricter limits on the size of groups which can meet.
What are the rules at level one?
Highland, Argyll & Bute, Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire, Moray, Angus, Perth & Kinross, Falkirk, Fife, Inverclyde, East and West Lothian, West Dunbartonshire, Dumfries and Galloway and the Borders will be in level one from 5 June.
There will be a greater relaxation on the numbers allowed to meet. In cafes, pubs, restaurants and other indoor public places the limit will rise to eight adults from three households, and premises can stay open until 23:00, serving food and alcohol.
Children under-12 do not count towards the total numbers for indoor socialising but should be included for the household limit.
Outdoors, up to 12 adults from 12 households will be able to meet, currently still with two-metre social distancing between households, although a review of distancing requirements is taking place.
People are still urged to work from home where possible. Nightclubs must remain shut – but soft play and funfairs can open.
