Forestry England is inviting operators to submit tender applications to manage and operate their 13 established campsites across England.
Following the announcement earlier this year that the Camping and Caravanning Club has sold their majority interest in the Camping in The Forest (CiTF) business to Forestry England and Forestry and Land Scotland, Forestry England are looking for like-minded operators for these sites.
The sites are found in Nottinghamshire, Forest of Dean, Gloucestershire, Savernake Forest (Wiltshire) and the New Forest. A full tender process is live and will run until 12 noon on Friday 8 July 2022.
Forestry England Chief Executive, Mike Seddon, said: “We are delighted with the interest that this opportunity has generated. Our vision to innovate and expand the offer at these special locations is reliant on finding the right operator for each site. It not only needs to be someone that can deliver on the ground, but we want it to be someone that shares our excitement about this unique opportunity and someone who can create a fantastic offer for people wanting to spend longer in these special places.”
He added: “Whether you have already submitted your expression of interest or are just hearing about the opportunity now, we urge anyone who would like to be considered to visit the procurement portal to find out more about the next phase of the process.”
