Approved Workshops Scheme award winners announced

19, February 2025

Two companies have been recognised for their high standards of work and customer service through this year’s Approved Workshop Scheme (AWS) awards.

The AWS Fixed Workshop of the Year 2024 has been awarded to Kirk Caravan Services of Lanark in Lanarkshire, which has been a member of the AWS since 2013. Meanwhile Kurts Mobile Caravan Services, a scheme member for 17 years based near Thirsk in North Yorkshire, was presented with the award for AWS Mobile Workshop of the Year 2024. Both companies took the top position having been finalists in the 2022 and 2023 awards.

The annual awards are judged on a range of criteria including compliance with the scheme’s requirements, customer reviews and votes, and the results of assessments.

Reece Wigmore, the Approved Workshop Scheme Manager, said: “The awards are really important because they celebrate the work carried out by companies within the Approved Workshop Scheme. The winners and finalists have to demonstrate hard work and adherence to high standards throughout the year to be in with a chance of taking the top position in the two categories.”

This year’s awards were sponsored by Engineer Insurance and Aftercare. Managing Director Martyn Raybould said: “We exclusively use AWS workshops to secure the industry’s best
available engineers and supporting the awards was a natural next step, along with
becoming an NCC member to grow our business.”

The finalists were:

Tourer Techs Caravan Services of Highbridge, Somerset (winner in 2023)

Caravan Motorhome Care Services, of Bristol

Cara-Fix Midlands, of Staffordshire (a finalist in 2021 and 2023, and the winner in 2022)

JB Caravan and Trailer Services, Staffordshire (the winner in 2021 and 2023, and a finalist in 2022).

The award presentations were made at the Caravan, Camping and Motorhome Show at the NEC Birmingham on Wednesday, February 19.
